I’ve known Josh since the early 2000s through a shared digital community. Over the years, we’ve maintained an online friendship, and I was fortunate enough to meet him in person for dinner in San Diego before one of his cruises.
When someone I knew sent me the clip of Mrs. Betty in the mirror, even though I immediately recognized Josh’s voice it immediately struck a chord with me. At the time, I was navigating the emotional journey of coming to terms with my mom’s battle against the same disease, compounded by an aggressive cancer. My mom passed the same day one month before Betty.
I was grateful to have Josh’s book in hand before a flight, and it became an unexpected source of solace. As I read it at the gate, surrounded by my thoughts of family and friends, it felt like a bridge between grief and hope. In a touching moment, as the plane was boarding, someone recognized Betty from the book’s cover. We exchanged the briefest glance—a silent understanding—but the rush of boarding didn’t allow for more. Still, it was a poignant reminder of how deeply Betty’s story has touched so many lives.
This book is more than a collection of memories; it’s a testament to love, loss, and the enduring impact of a life well lived. Bob and Josh’s heartfelt storytelling beautifully captures the spirit of Betty and reminds us all to treasure the moments we have with those we hold dear.

Heartfelt story to carry on Betty's Legacy
Being the recipient of the 1st Betty Pettit Caregiver Scholarship I knew I had to get the book and read this story.I won’t spoil this for others, but I’ve shared with Josh so many similarities his parents have gone thru just like my parents, health wise. This book has made me laugh and has also had me crying. I’ve come across names and thought WOW that’s my daughter’s name. Another name was one of the Respite Caregivers, same name as my older sister (my sister passed away May 28th 2022 after Stage 4 bile duct/liver cancer diagnosis May 3rd 2022.) I was sobbing just seeing her name.Thank you Bob and Josh for sharing Betty’s life story. Your love and devotion to Betty are clearly apparent as you faced the challenges of caring for someone with this horrible disease.I love the statistics, guidance and awareness this brings to so many.Thank you again for choosing momma and me as the first recipient of Betty Pettit Caregiver Scholarship.May Betty live in the hearts of all those who followed and continue to follow this lasting legacy of that started with “Betty meeting her friend Betty”.Take care of YOU and your loved onesAli and Mille

A must read for anyone with a family member suffering from Dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
Beautiful story about a woman's journey with Alzheimer's disease. It was informative to hear about her husband and son's caregiver journey too. I'm sure this book will help many who are on this journey supporting their loved one.

The 7 Stages of Alzheimer's Disease: Walking Betty Home: Lessons from 11 Years As a Caregiver - Autographed Copy
Alzheimer’s doesn’t just change the person diagnosed.
It changes everyone who loves them.
For eleven years, Joshua Pettit walked beside his mother, Betty, through every stage of Alzheimer’s — from the first quiet memory slips to full-time caregiving and final goodbyes.
He didn’t study it in a classroom.
He lived it.
In The 7 Stages of Alzheimer’s Disease: Walking Betty Home, you’ll discover what most families desperately search for after a diagnosis:
• What each stage actually looks like in real life
• What’s happening in the brain — explained simply
• What to expect next (so you’re not constantly blindsided)
• Practical caregiving guidance for every stage
• Emotional reassurance from someone who has been there
This is not a cold medical manual.
It’s a roadmap written by a son who walked the entire journey.
If you’re caring for a parent…
If you’re watching someone slowly change…
If you feel exhausted, confused, or afraid of what’s ahead…
This book will help you understand the stages —
and help you find strength in the middle of them.
Because dementia may steal memory.
But it cannot erase love.
And sometimes the greatest act of devotion
is simply walking someone home.

RESTOCKED BY MID APRIL
Millions were moved by Betty Pettit’s viral TikTok journey with Alzheimer’s — a testament to her humor, courage, and the love that surrounded her. Beside her through every moment was her husband, Bob.
In this heartfelt memoir, Bob invites readers to step into the life that shaped him long before he became Betty’s steadfast caregiver. Against the backdrop of small-town America in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s, he recalls childhood adventures, red wagons, and Boy Scout hikes, the day he heard about Pearl Harbor crackling over the radio, and the excitement of catching a record-breaking pike. He shares the milestones that defined his youth, including the magical evening at Little Rock City when he shared his first kiss with Betty — the girl who would one day become his partner for life.
Told with warmth, detail, and quiet wit, Bob’s story is more than a companion to Betty’s legacy. It is a vivid portrait of mid-century American life and of a man whose strength, kindness, and devotion helped sustain a love that lasted through every season.
For anyone who cherished Betty’s story, or who treasures real-life accounts of resilience and simpler times, this book offers a moving window into the memories that built a remarkable life.

Betty's Story (Our First Book)
I'm Betty: A woman's battle with Alzheimer's disease, rise to social media fame, and her family's caregiving journey. - Autographed Copy
Betty Pettit lived with Alzheimer’s disease for over 11 years. Her husband Bob and son Josh cared for her at home. Before that, she was a wife and mother with a never-ending dedication and love for her family. Josh documented her story on social media and over a million people followed their journey and fell in love with Betty and Bob. This book tells Betty’s life story, before, during and after the disease. It shows the love she had for Bob, her family and life in general. It reveals the caregiving struggles the family faces in caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia.
Betty’s story is amazing. A simple girl from a small town, who would end up having an impact on millions of people. Our family takes solace in the fact, that if she had to suffer with this horrible disease, and we had to travel this very hard caregiving journey, that along the way we helped at least one person. We hope we helped someone understand the disease just a little bit more or become a slightly better caregiver. Maybe we inspired someone else to share or talk about this disease?
Betty would be so happy to have known she made a difference in this world. To our fans and followers and every friend and person along the way of our journey, thank you. We could not have done it without you.
A portion of the sale of each book goes to Betty’s Memorial Alzheimer’s Association fundraiser.
